Region V objective is to carry out the mission of the National Medical Association which is to advance the art and science of medicine for people of African descent through education, advocacy, and health policy to promote health and wellness, eliminate health disparities, and sustain physician viability. We do these by:

• Foster success in legislative, regulatory, and legal interventions through proactive and strategic healthcare policy advocacy.

• Empower the next generation of healthcare leaders, physicians, and medical providers through mentorng and scholarship

• Strengthen and enhance physicians’ trusted leadership role within their communities through education, timely healthcare updates, and peer to peer networking.
